An exhibition at Guggenheim shows Italian postwar artists.

An exhibition at Guggenheim shows Italian postwar artists.

Five postwar Italian artists presented in the exhibition galleries with an original selection of their works.
Lucio Fontana, Piero Dorazio, Enrico Castellani, Paolo Scheggi and Rodolfo Arico.
An exhibition narrative that looks afresh at the notion of Italian painting in the period of the waning of the Art informel, evident in the career of a master such as Fontana.
The other artists, deploying an emerging pictorial language peculiar to the 60s, offer an international audience a rich vein of Italian creativity, predicated on a new concept of the art of painting, that proposed the chromatic and symbolic force of the monochrome as in both visual and conceptual terms.
Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero.

Until April 15th, 2013, don't miss it!

Open from 10am to 6pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
